This is a picture of our little farmhouse in 2003 when we bought it. It had a gorgeous leaded glass window in the front and cute little arched windows in the enclosed front porch. Notice the eye-grabbing color on the trim...yawn. I have posted pictures of the porch makeover, but now it is time for the reveal! drumroll please..
I know, the ladder shouldn't be in the picture, but it's a work in progress dahling, I looove the black trim, It really pops, (and it makes the cute fall decorations stand out) Someday, we will put in new stairs and get rid of the red (why, red??) and beef up the posts. Wanna see some more before and afters? Hang on....
Before:
This is the kitchen. The stove you can see the edge of is the "summer" stove. The original wood and coal stove sits just behind it on the other side of the 1/2 wall. The wall next to the window is hiding the stairway. This is the wood and coal stove. Can you imagine cooking all your meals on this??? Me neither! Notice the window in the background..It juts right up against the wall, and the stove pipe? Yep! it leads right up the chimney
This is the stairwell after: See the beautiful banister, the wood floors, and the lovely light streaming through the window???This is the same view after as above:
Only no wood and coal stove! We put in a new window, centered it on the wall, moved some cabinets from an opposite wall, tore out the half wall and the chimney, and basically made it awesome! I Love, Love, Love, my new kitchen (and we did it on a very limited budget)
